²⁴ Then they prayed,^(A) “Lord, you know everyone’s heart.^(B) Show us^(C) which of these two you have chosen

⁴⁴ You belong to your father, the devil,^(A) and you want to carry out your father’s desires.^(B) He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.^(C)

³⁴ When Esau heard his father’s words, he burst out with a loud and bitter cry^(A) and said to his father, “Bless^(B) me—me too, my father!”

³⁸ It will be good for those servants whose master finds them ready, even if he comes in the middle of the night or toward daybreak.

³⁸ If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man^(A) will be ashamed of them^(B) when he comes^(C) in his Father’s glory with the holy angels.”

⁵³ May the God of Abraham^(A) and the God of Nahor,^(B) the God of their father, judge between us.”^(C)

So Jacob took an oath^(D) in the name of the Fear of his father Isaac.^(E)

⁷ he may minister in the name^(A) of the Lord his God like all his fellow Levites who serve there in the presence of the Lord.

²⁰ But a prophet who presumes to speak in my name anything I have not commanded, or a prophet who speaks in the name of other gods,^(A) is to be put to death.”^(B)
